The Beverly Hillbillies: The Clampetts Entertain

Granny Clampett is feeling down and misses her late daughter, Pearl. The Clampetts try various methods to cheer her up, but every attempt to get her riled up ends in chaos and cooking mishaps. The family, especially Jethro, causes quite a ruckus in the kitchen attempting to cook. The Clampetts are invited to dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Drysdale, but their social awkwardness and unusual customs make it a challenge for their hosts

Mr. Drysdale, a banker, is struggling to find a way to make the dinner a success. Mr. Drysdale faces the challenge that the Clampetts are not accustomed to polite society.  Various creative but failed ideas to entertain the guests include a luau, a Roman bacchanalia, and a trip to the Colosseum.

Eventually, Mr. Drysdale realizes that the key to entertaining the Clampetts is to embrace their unique personalities rather than trying to force them into a formal, elite environment. The solution is to take their unique personalities into account. He decides to invite them to a casual dinner, hosting a party in their own home for the Clampetts; Mr. van Ronk was to join them.

The episode concludes with the Clampetts hosting their own lively party, using their "down-home" approach to ensure the evening's success, entertaining themselves and their guests. The episode showcases the contrasts between the Clampett's simple, good-hearted family and the formality of the wealthy urban society. The video highlights the humor arising from the clash of cultures and reveals how much the Clampetts are appreciated.
