Over a decade has elapsed since the inaugural machine known as The Terminator attempted to eliminate Sarah Connor and her unborn child, John. The individual destined to become the future leader of the human resistance against the Machines is now a healthy young boy. Nonetheless, another Terminator, referred to as the T-1000, is dispatched back in time by the supercomputer Skynet. This latest model is more sophisticated and powerful than its predecessor, tasked with the mission of killing John Connor while he is still a child. Fortunately, Sarah and John do not have to confront the T-1000 threat alone. A different Terminator, identical to the model that previously failed to kill Sarah Connor in 1984, is also sent back in time to safeguard them. Thus, the struggle for the future has commenced.
In 1995, a full ten years after the unsuccessful assassination attempt by the Terminator in Kẻ Hủy Diệt (1984), a now ten-year-old John Connor finds himself in foster care following his mother Sarah's confinement in a psychiatric institution. To thwart John from altering history and ultimately leading the human Resistance Army, the self-aware computer system Skynet dispatches another cybernetic assassin a nearly indestructible, shape-shifting killer. Against the backdrop of an impending nuclear catastrophe, two relentless cyborgs the outdated yet deadly T-800 and the far more advanced liquid-metal model T-1000 are pursuing the same vulnerable target. Can Sarah and John prevent the impending Judgment Day.
In 2029, the remaining individuals after a nuclear disaster engage in an intense conflict against the machines and the robotic army known as Terminators that they have created. To eliminate John Connor, the leader of the human resistance, two cyborgs are dispatched to the past with the goal of killing him before the resistance prevails, thereby altering history. The initial Terminator, a T-800, failed in 1984 to assassinate John's mother, Sarah, before John's conception. The second model, a T-1000 composed of liquid metal, is more sophisticated and begins tracking both John as a child and Sarah in 1995. In response, the future resistance sends a reprogrammed Terminator to safeguard young Connor. The battle between these robots will escalate to monumental proportions. As the child teaches the Terminator about what it means to be human, his mother endeavors to stop the emergence of the first intelligent machines. Together with the educated Terminator, they aim to reshape their future.
