The story of Peninsula unfolds four years after the zombie outbreak depicted in Train to Busan. The Korean peninsula lies in ruin, and Jung Seok, a former soldier who has successfully escaped abroad, is tasked with a mission that leads him to unexpectedly encounter survivors.
It has been four arduous years since the devastating events of Train to Busan (2016), and a rampant zombie epidemic has engulfed South Korea completely. Now, amidst the ruins of the devastated city of Incheon, the guilt-ridden ex-Marine Captain, Jung-seok, undertakes a perilous mission to find a truck filled with bags totaling $20 million, joined by three equally daring treasure hunters.
However, within this vast urban wasteland of destruction and death, hordes of ravenous zombies are hunting for human prey, compounded by the presence of dangerous mercenaries from the nefarious Sergeant Hwang's Unit 631 patrolling the shadowy cityscape.
